Skating

One of the cornerstones behind the making of Shoehorn, and possibly the most reliable source of enjoyment for myself and many others; skateboarding opened a door for me physically, mentally, and socially. Had I never committed to torn clothes, grubby hands, and legs that look like a Pollock painting, I wouldn’t have met most the the best people in my life. Had it not been for the community and resilience this little ‘hobby’ taught me, I would be a much less outgoing, much less motivated individual.

Shoehorn as a skate mag was it’s first iteration, with the inclusion of our music, skiing, and culture leading it to its metamorphisis. Through Shoehorn, I hope to convey just how much skating did for me, and what the subculture can mean for everyone. Some will be interviews, some will be reviews, some will be parts, but all will show off just what skating has to offer.
